Christmas markets are opening across Germany from this week in a tradition that dates back centuries.

For the next four weeks the Christmas markets will provide holiday cheer with stalls selling mulled wine, sausages, Christmas ornaments and other delights.

China Eastern has transformed from a debt-laden airline to profit-making group

It took one year for China Eastern Air Holding Co to transform from a debt-laden group to a profit-making one.

And during the period from 2009 and 2015, its net assets surged from minus 10 billion yuan ($1.45 billion) to 53.99 billion yuan in the black.

The extraordinary u-turn is credited by its senior executives to consistent reform and development, which they said was a continuing process and remains the key to the Shanghai-based State-owned group's pursuit of loftier achievements.

"We once faced an extremely difficult situation," said Wang Haitao, deputy head of the group's strategic development department.

"At the end of 2008, China Eastern's debt-to-asset ratio reached 105 percent and the debt ratio of our listed arm China Eastern Airlines hit 115 percent."

Apart from the negative effects of rising fuel prices and falling demand, the core of the problem was that internal reform was not fully carried out, Wang said.

He said that after deepening its reform for seven consecutive years, the group posted a net profit of 6.234 billion yuan in 2015, up 103.7 percent from a year earlier. Its return on equity, or return on net worth, also posted a higher ranking among global airlines groups.

The airline released its latest reform plan this year and said it was ready to let reform play a greater role during the next five-year plan.

The planned reforms include establishing the group's own management board by the end of this year, with a guarantee its role won't overlap with that of the listed arm.

The group, Wang said, plans to embrace the Internet Plus era, launching innovation on products, technologies and business mode through industry fund and innovation fund.

The group wants to strengthen the competitiveness of its listed arm－China Eastern Airlines, and consider to introduce some strategic investors to boost the vitality of the company.

In 2015, China Eastern sold a 3.55 percent stake in China Eastern Airlines to US carrier Delta Air Lines Inc.

In the first nine months this year, China Eastern saw its capacity in North America soar 65 percent year-on-year, said Cheng Junhui, an official from the company's passenger transportation market committee.

The company signed an agreement with online trip planning and activities site Ctrip.com International Ltd in April to expand into tourism industry.

The group also made successful trial in online retailing, with its online ticket sales revenue expected to reach 8.5 billion yuan by the end of 2016, according to Wei Zhilin, general manager of China Eastern's e-commerce unit.

China Eastern Airlines will have a fleet of more than 820 planes by 2020, its passenger traffic will reach 150 million per year and its cargo and mail volumes will reach 1.6 million metric tons per year.

Law enforcement sources tell us, the call came in as a male with mental illness. Dr. Michael Farzam said his patient's name was "Jim Jones, 39 years old, 5'8", 175 lbs ... suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration."

According to the police report the doctor told cops he had placed Kanye on a 5150 psychiatric hold and wanted him taken to UCLA Medical Center. We're told there's an issue over whether the doctor actually placed Kanye on a 5150.

The report goes on to say Dr. Farzam told police Kanye had attempted to assault a staff member at the gym.

We're told Kanye was handcuffed to the stretcher because it's protocol when cops are told someone is on a 5150 hold.

Kim Kardashian Ponders Third Child, Is Confused by Surrogacy

Kim Kardashian is both curious and confused.

About whether or not to return to the spotlight after last month's horrific robbery in Paris?

Perhaps. But that's not what we're talking about right now.

Instead, we're following up on something Kim told her family on last Sunday's episode of their ridiculously scripted reality show.

I've come to the conclusion that I just want to explore surrogacy," Kardashian said, prompting rumors that she and Kanye West may become parents to a third child.

They already have a girl named North and a boy named Saint at home.

In this case, however, Kardashian would actually NOT be the one to get pregnant.

Not because she doesn't want to gain lots of weight again, but because she experienced some pretty serious complications with her first two pregnancies.

Therefore, if Kim were to welcome another baby into the world, she'd almost definitely go the route of surrogacy, which means another woman would actually bring the child to term.

This is a practice typically employed by women who cannot get pregnant; and, to be honest, by women who are pretty well off.

Because you usually pay the surrogate a decent amount of money.

In a clip from the next all-new episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim broaches the topic again while driving with sister Kourtney Kardashian.

"Obviously I do want to have my own baby," she says in the following sneak peek. "But I truly don't know if my body can handle it one more time."

Kourtney listens intently while Kim explains why she possesses "fears" and "unanswered questions" about surrogacy because she doesn't have all of the information on it.

"I don’t know how I feel about it," Kim later says into the camera. "I’ve never given it that much thought. It’s something that does concern me."

It's sounds as if her main concerns center around the surrogate taking proper care of herself while pregnant.

"If you use a surrogate, nobody has to know the whole time," Kourtney half-jokes in the clip. "You could have a baby for a year and nobody would even know."

Right. Because that would totally happen.

Kim would need to move to a country where the Internet and where photographers are banned in order to go that far off the grid.

This episode, of course, was filmed several weeks before Kardashian got robbed in France. (You can even see the diamond ring that was stolen in the video above.)

We wonder if that frightening experience has changed her mind about having a third child.

She would need to be extra certain that the surrogate was safe; plus, it would be yet another life she would need to be worried about.

Blake Lively Gives Birth - Report

Actress Blake Lively has reportedly given birth to her second child with husbandRyan Reynolds.

The Savages beauty welcomed the tot at a hospital in Manhattan, New York, a source tells the New York Post's Page Six gossip column.

No further details about the child's birth were available as of yet, and a representative for the new parents has yet to comment on the news.

The newborn is a sibling for Blake and Ryan's daughter James, who will turn two in December.

Meanwhile, the family's new arrival already has friends in high places - the insider reveals Taylor Swift was en route to visit mother and baby on Friday morning (September 30).

The pop superstar was among the guests at Blake's baby shower, which doubled as her 29th birthday bash, in the Big Apple in late August, when the actress gathered friends and family at the Campagna restaurant at the Bedford Post Inn, which is owned by Richard Gere.

It was not known whether the couple was expecting a baby boy or girl, as the party location was decorated with gender-neutral white and green balloons.

The news of Blake's pregnancy first surfaced in April, and she debuted her growing baby bump at the world premiere of her Woody Allen film Cafe Society at the Cannes Film Festival in France in May.

Blake and Ryan have made no secret of their desire to have a big family.

Khloe Kardashian Divorce Back On, Should Be Final By Christmas

Khloe Kardashian is hoping to start 2017 as a single woman after signing off on her divorce from sportsman Lamar Odom.

Kim Kardashian's sister called off the divorce at the end of last year after basketball player Odom overdosed at a Nevada brothel - but now it's very much back on.

The former couple has reached a property settlement and both signed legal documents that were filed on Friday, according to TMZ.

Khloe first filed for divorce in December, 2013, but never signed the paperwork, amid reports the couple was still attempting to save the marriage.

She rushed to be by his bedside last year after Lamar almost died. Her devotion to her estranged husband partly cost her a relationship to another sportsman, James Harden.

Kardashian and Lamar must now wait for the judge to sign off on the divorce. Sources tell the news outlet that will happen in December 2016, so Khloe will be officially single again by the end of the year.

Since splitting from Lamar, Khloe has also been linked to rapper French Montana and she is currently dating another U.S. basketball star, Tristan Thompson.

The divorce update comes days after Khloe launched her new Good American denim collection for women of all shapes and sizes with British businesswoman Emma Grede.

The reality TV star is confident her new project has what it takes to last, stating, "We want longevity. This is something you have to nurture, and you have to crawl before you walk. There’s no rush for any of this because we want to be here for years to come."
